Conflicts and KYC Analyst
We are currently recruiting for a proactive Conflicts and KYC Analyst to join our Compliance team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm-wide standards by conducting thorough conflict checks and Know Your Client (KYC) due diligence processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
General Purpose of the Position
The compliance team provides essential and valuable support to everyone within the firm. The role of the Conflicts and KYC Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s compliance with professional regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to conflict of interest checks and client due diligence (KYC). This role ensures the firm operates within the bounds of its ethical and legal obligations, protecting its reputation and that of its clients.
When carrying out their duties/responsibilities, the Conflicts and KYC Analyst must ensure that the firm’s policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
This job description is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake additional duties from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the support services team.
- Conduct thorough conflict of interest checks for potential new matters, clients and counterparties using the firm’s conflicts database.
- Analyse and interpret the results of conflict searches, escalating potential issues and advising on resolutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all conflict assessments and decisions.
- Perform client due diligence (CDD) and KYC check in compliance with the Money Laundering Regulations and other relevant legislation.
- Verify the identity of clients and beneficial owners, assessing risk levels and identifying potential red flags.
- Perform sanctions and PEP checks on clients and adverse parties.
- Monitor ongoing client relationships and update records to ensure continued compliance.
- Maintaining accurate records of all KYC documents, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to confidentiality rules.
Reporting To
Director of HR, Risk and Compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements
To perform the job successfully, the post holder must have a degree and must demonstrate the following knowledge skills and abilities:
- Previous experience working in a law firm in a similar role – not essential
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels
Salary (Indicative)
£35,000
