Freya has a broad range of experience in general commercial litigation, shipping, trade and energy disputes. She has been described as a highly effective lawyer who provides good legal analysis tailored to commercial requirements..
Her experience includes acting for and advising owners, operators, managers and charterers of vessels, in addition to P&I clubs and London market insurers, banks and investment funds on a range of issues and disputes, including those arising from charter parties, bills of lading, ship management agreements and sale of goods contracts.
Freya has represented clients across several arbitral forums including the LMAA, LCIA and ICC, as well as litigation in the Commercial Court and the Court of Appeal. Her arbitration experience includes being part of a multi jurisdictional team representing a state government in two high-value, complex ICC arbitration proceedings concerning issues arising under oil Production Sharing Agreements.
Prior to joining Preston Turnbull Freya trained at a global law firm and completed a 6-month secondment at a global manufacturing company.
