Deborah Cooper
Trainee Solicitor
Deborah commenced her Training Contract with Preston Turnbull in September 2024, after working in the Legal Department of a commodities trading, shipping, and chartering Company with headquarters in Monaco.
In her previous role, Deborah gained experience in drafting contracts for the trading of commodities and the application of sanctions in relation to shipping and trading, with a particular focus on Russian-related sanctions. She has been involved in the onboarding of new clients, KYC compliance and bank relationships.
She assists in a wide variety of practice areas including commercial litigation and arbitration, charterparty disputes, international trade, commercial insurance, and provides assistance in preparation for hearings.
Deborah holds a Master’s degree in Italian law, having graduated from the University of Genoa. She then completed her Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of East Anglia and subsequently obtained her Legal Practice Course with LLM in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Law with distinction.
Deborah is a native Italian speaker and is also fluent in French.
