Jake had an extensive seafaring career spanning 18 years and sailed up to master prior to qualifying as a solicitor with a reputable boutique shipping law firm in the City.
He has sailed on a large range of commercial merchant vessels, US auxiliary fleet vessels and oil / gas industry platforms. His experience includes product tankers, offshore loading tankers, LNG tankers, ammunition carriers, breakbulk / heavy lift, drill ships, MPSV / PSV, hydrographic survey and fish processors. A considerable amount of his work involved ship to ship (STS) operations. He was also accredited by the Nautical Institute as a dynamic positioning operator (DPO).
Jake’s combined recent sailing experience and tremendous industry knowledge translate into a legal practice that is invaluably practical and pragmatic, even where highly technical issues are involved.
