James Stephenson
Associate
James graduated from University College London with first class honours in Law. After graduating, he spent a decade working in education, during which he obtained a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge.
James joined the firm on a training contract in 2024 and subsequently qualified as an Associate. He works across a wide variety of practice areas, including commercial litigation and arbitration, charterparty disputes, international trade, ship sale and purchase disputes, and commercial insurance. He also has experience of litigation at all levels of the court system, including the Court of Appeal and UK Supreme Court.

The 'Lila Lisbon' – acting for sellers in appeals before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, concerning a buyer's entitlement to loss of bargain damages when terminating under clause 14 of NSF 2012.
