Stefan is a shipping and international trade lawyer with a broad range of experience, specialising in particular in bill of lading and charterparty disputes. He handles London arbitrations and litigation before the Commercial and Admiralty Courts in London and has experience coordinating litigation in numerous other jurisdictions around the world.
Stefan has extensive experience advising international cargo owners and insurers in the resolution of disputes arising out of the carriage of goods by sea and marine casualties including the defence of General Average and salvage claims. Stefan has pursued marine insurance recovery claims globally, advising insurers based in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Stefan joined Preston Turnbull having trained at a leading international shipping law firm during which he spent six months on secondment in their Singaporean office assisting with ship finance matters. Stefan then spent six years at a global law firm, during which he went on secondments to two leading London market underwriters and, as such, has first-hand experience of adjusting marine claims.
