Tim Guyer
Legal Director
Tim specialises in dispute resolution and has particular experience advising on charterparty, bill of lading, and sale contract claims, as well as cases concerning general average, collisions and other casualty related areas. He acts for traders, owners, charterers, MGAs and insurers.
He has experience in the English Courts and conducting arbitration under the following terms: LMAA; LCIA; GAFTA; LOF and SCMA arbitration.
Before joining Preston Turnbull, Tim trained and qualified at a leading shipping law firm in the City. He also spent 10 months on secondment at an International Group P&I Club working with a wide cross-section of Members and previously had a shorter secondment working in the charterers and traders’ team at another International Group P&I Club.

Acting for the Owners of the Miracle Hope and Songa Kari in relation to issues concerning LOIs.
Acting for cargo owners in relation to a LOF salvage arbitration.
Acting for Owners of a vessel in relation to the total loss of a vessel and legal proceedings involving a limitation fund.
Acting for Charterers in relation to the repudiation of a COA and the quantum of damages arising from that breach.
Acting for Owners in relation to an off-spec bunker dispute and the salvage of the vessel.
Acting for Charterers in relation to a dispute concerning a bunker adjustment factor clause.
