Waled specialises in shipping, energy and trade disputes acting for owners, charterers, operators and managers, in addition to P&I clubs and London market insurers across a number of arbitral forums including the LMAA, LCIA and ICC, as well as litigation in the Commercial Court.
He regularly advises on disputes arising out of charterparties, bill of ladings and ship-management agreements, and has also advised on several significant casualties and admiralty matters such as salvage; collisions; and groundings. His arbitration experience includes being part of a multi-jurisdictional team representing a state-owned national oil company in two high-value, ICC arbitration proceedings concerning two FSO building projects.
Prior to joining Preston Turnbull Waled trained at a global law firm and spent two years working at a leading mining and minerals group.
