Preston Turnbull heads to sea to support the Gwennili Trust
Over the summer, colleagues from Preston Turnbull headed down to the south coast to join the Gwennili Trust and its beneficiaries on sailing expeditions up and down the Solent.
The Gwennili Trust supports current and former service personnel, in particular those with physical and mental disabilities including those on personal recovery duty, by offering them opportunities to take to the water onboard sailing yachts and join daily or weekly trips around the Solent. Whether the beneficiaries are there to learn to sail or simply to have some respite, the Gwennili Trust accommodates everyone no matter their circumstances.
Sailing from Portsmouth Harbour to Buckler’s Hard on the Beaulieu River, a site steeped in British shipbuilding heritage, before returning to the Hamble River the next day; the Preston Turnbull team sailed alongside individuals living with PTSD, visual impairments and members of the Forces Wives Challenge, among others. The experience provided the team with a valuable opportunity to get to know their fellow crew members, hear their stories, and enjoy time together both on the water and at the end of trip BBQ.
Preston Turnbull has proudly supported the Gwennili Trust for many years, a partnership rooted in personal connections as well as a shared interest in the sea. It has been fantastic for our team members to have had the opportunity to sail with the Gwennili Trust and witness first-hand the inspirational work that they do. We look forward to continuing this partnership and supporting those that benefit from the Gwennili Trust for years to come.
